Thigh Lift
What is a Thigh Lift?
Thighplasty, also known as a thigh lift, is a cosmetic procedure that removes excess fat and skin from the thighs, reshaping and contouring the area. This procedure results in slimmer, smoother, and more defined thighs for an aesthetically pleasing and beautiful new appearance you will be proud of.
About a Thigh Lift
A thigh lift is not recommended for those that still plan on losing a significant amount of weight, nor should it be in place of regular exercise and a proper diet. Your surgeon will discuss with you what is realistic in your goals with a thigh lift, and will do an assessment of your medical history as well as measure and examine your body. Incisions are then made on the areas to be treated, with the most common technique being in the groin. Once the skin is lifted, any excess fat and skin is removed. Sutures are then used to close the incisions, and results of thinner and sleeker thighs are immediate.
Thigh Lift Recovery
Dressings are applied to the area of the incisions, and thin tubes are placed in the skin to drain any excess fluid or blood. Your surgeon will give you a list of instructions on how to care for the surgical site, and pain medications are prescribed to help you manage any discomfort that should arise. Only light activities are recommended for the first two weeks, and you may resume your normal routines after five to six weeks. Your surgeon may have you wear a compression garment for the first month to aid in the healing process as well as provide support to the area.
